nosh out with our Dining Group

Our Dining Group tries to meet together each month for a lunch or dinner together. The COVID-19 pandemic put the mocklers on us awhile, but easing of restrictions in health guidelines (23oct2020) allowed us to reconvene from November 2020. Then on 16 June 2021 the COVID-19 (Delta variant) lead to a 106-day lockdown in Sydney, eased in October 2021 and the activity has recommenced!

• Thursday 31 August 2023, 12:00 noon: our Dining Group will meet for lunch at West Pennant Hills Sports Club, 103 New Line Road, West Pennant Hills, NSW: join us for a great time together. Organiser: Ross Beattie.
• Wednesday 26 July 2023, 12:00: our Dining Group saw 15 members and guests lunch in the bistro [formerly Wings Bistro] at North Ryde RSL Sports Club [formerly Eastwood Rugby Club], 146-150 Vimera Road, Eastwood, NSW. Organiser Greg Stone.
• Wednesday 28 June 2023, 12:00: 17 members and guests of our Dining Group met at the Carlo Dragon Bistro, Carlingford Bowling Club, corner Pennant Hills Road and Evans Road for a very pleasant lunch. Organised by Ross Beattie.
• Tuesday 16 May 2022, noon: Greg Stone was as good as his word when he promised perfect weather for our lunch at the Drummoyne Sailing Club, 2 St Georges Crescent, Drummoyne. 11 diners enjoyed lunch on the outside deck.
• Tuesday 18 April 2023, 12:00: Wal Gallagher organised for members and partners to lunch at the Silverwater Hotel [formerly Dooley's Waterview], on the banks of Parramatta River, 214 Silverwater Rd, Silverwater: 19 of us enjoyed the lunch there.
• Wednesday 22 March 2023, 12:00: our Dining Group a lunch at the West Pennant Hills Sports Club, 103 New Line Road, West Pennant Hills, NSW. Organiser: Ray Palmer. 13 attendees.
• Wednesday 15 February 2023, 12:00: our Dining Group met again at the Carlo Dragon Bistro, Carlingford Bowling Club, corner Pennant Hills Road and Evans Road for a very pleasant lunch. Organised by Ross Beattie.
• Thursday 11 January 2023, 12:00: our Dining Group started 2023 with a lunch at the the (licensed) Wild Pear Café, 658 Old Northern Rd, Dural: 21 gathered and enjoyed great food and even better company. Organiser: Ross Beattie.
• Thursday 29 December 2022, 12:00: our Dining Group lunch will be in the bistro [formerly Wings Bistro] at North Ryde RSL Sports Club [formerly Eastwood Rugby Club], 146-150 Vimera Road, Eastwood, NSW. Organiser Greg Stone.
• Wednesday 19 October 2022, 12:00 noon: due to caterer changes, our Dining Group's lunch planned at West Pennant Hills Sports Club was instead held at the Carlingford Bowling Club, Pennant Hills Road (cnr,. Evans Road), Carlingford: 24 attendees. Organiser: Ray Palmer.
• September 2022: no specific Dining Group get-together this month: the Day Outing was our Club's Annual Picnic on Monday 26 September 2022 at the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway at Rhodes.

• Wednesday 22 June 2022, 12:00: our Dining Group saw 16 members and guests gather for lunch at the Vanilla Cream Café, 233 Annangrove Rd, Annangrove. Organised by Brian Haywood.
• Wednesday 11 May 2022, 12:00 noon: Ray Palmer organised another lunch at West Pennant Hills Sports Club, 103 New Line Road, West Pennant Hills, NSW, in lieu of our April Day Outing. 19 happy folk had a great time together.
• Tuesday 29 March 2022, noon: 15 folk enjoyed lunch at the Drummoyne Sailing Club, 2 St Georges Crescent, Drummoyne, organised by Greg Stone. A great time, though Sydney's spell of wet weather stymied pland to enjoy views of the beautiful Parramatta River from the balcony

• CANCELLED: Wal's lunch set down for 1 June 2021 - Asian dining at the Ambassador Training Restaurant at Ryde TAFE [Northern Sydney institute of TAFE] (250 Blaxland Rd, Ryde NSW) has been CANCELLED by TAFE - not enough students available to prepare and serve the meals.
• POSTPONED  the lunch at The Ranch (Hotel), 108 Herring Rd., Marsfield, NSW (known to many as El Rancho) has been postponed
• Monday 19 April, 12:00: Brian Haywood has booked for a lunch at the highly recommended Vanilla Cream Café, 233 Annangrove Rd, Annangrove.
• Tuesday 30 March, 12:00: 15 members and guests enjoyed lunch at Carlingford Bowling Club, Pennant Hills Road (cnr,. Evans Road), Carlingford, organised by Ross Beattie. There was plenty of parking (enter off Evans Road), and the club is serviced by Route 513, 535, 545, 546 and 625 bus services.
• Thursday 25 March 2021: Bishops Adventures has ceased tour operations but offer a tour and wine tasting at their Coolangatta Estate restored heritage village (near Shoalhaven Heads, NSW); Wal Gallagher proposed an amalgamated “Mini Tour - Day Outing – Dining Group” event: self-drive to the Shoalhaven for a tour and wine tasting followed by 12:30 lunch at the Gerroa Boat Fishermans Club bistro. Thirteen memebers and guests travelled down to thank the Bishops Regrettably Bishop's “Bigfoot” large open 4WD 'bus' no longer takes tourists from the Estate up to the top of nearby Mt Coolangatta.
