- Friday 21 July 2023, 10:00: a Cooks River ride: 6 Wobblies (5 members and 1 guest) cycled from Freshwater Park at Strathfield along the Cooks River Cycleway to the Canterbury Velodrome at Earlwood, snacking at the Fat Goose Café Green House in nearby Gough Whitlam Park on the return journey. Blessed by good weather on an easy 27 km ride led by Steve Drury.
- Friday 23 June 2023, 10:00: seven Wobblies rode along the Parramatta River Cycleway to Parramatta Park where they coffee'd before doing a circuit of the Park and returning to Rhodes via the cycleway on the opposite side of the River, for lunch at the Mill Park Street café, Rhodes. ~28 km on a pleasant, sunny day. Led by Steve Drury. One Wobbly started from and returned to Carlingford: 47 km.
- Friday 19 May 2023, 10:00: seven Wobblies met at the Billarong Reserve on the Wakehurst Parkway at Narrabeen, whence their Peleton set off on two laps around Narrabeen Lagoon: on part of the pathway around the lagoon they have added a new route closer to the water and also a new cycle bridge has been built next to Pittwater Road!!!!!!. Lunch/coffee was at the H2O café on the Lagoon foreshore. Leader Steve Drury.
- Friday 21 April 2023, 10:00: six Wobblies met at Mill Park Street, Rhodes, to ride along the Parramatta River Cycleway, crossing over Silverwater Bridge and on to Parramatta Park for a coffee stop before the return journey to Rhodes (a total distance of 30 km). Leader Geoffrey Richardson.
- Friday 31 March 2023, 10:00: seven Wobblies met at the Walder Park Gate in Prospect Parklands off William Lawson Drive and cycled along the Prospect Canal Reserve Track, over the viaduct, across the Cumberland Highway and on to the end of the track near Fowler Street, Guildford West, and on to Guildford for a coffee, before retracing our route back to the Cumberland Highway, then taking the Highway cycle path south before turning right into Prospect Creek/Long Street Park Recreation Reserve and back to Prospect Reservoir (a total distance of approximately 25 km), followed by a retreat to the Cricketers' Arms pub for lunch. A great day out: leader Steve Drury.
- Friday 24 February 2023, 10:00: seven Wobblies met at the Rouse Hill Regional Park car park (off Worcester Road, Rouse Hill) to cycle from Rouse Hill Regional Park to Windsor via the Windsor Road cycle path; coffee'd at Windsor before returning to the Park via the same route: ~22 km. Leader Steve Drury.
- Wednesday 18 January 2023, 10:00: six Wobblies pushed the pedals, on a hot and humid day, riding from at Majors Bay Reserve along the Parramatta River foreshore environs to Abbotsford in Hen and Chicken Bay; 150m of cobblestone near France Bay provided an interesting experience to the intrepid band; neverheless the 23½ km ride was enjoyable, as was the noon coffee and munch stop in Prince Edward Park, Cabaritta. Led as usual by Steve Drury.
- Friday 18 December 2022, 10:00: meeting at Mill Park Street, Rhodes, six Wobblies (five members and one guest) cycled across the John Whitton [old railway] Bridge across the Parramatta River to Meadowbank and west along the Parramatta River Cycleway. Two riders and the guest split off at Silverwater Bridge and meandered back via Newington Wetlands (17½ km), the others went on to P’matta Park, then returned (23½ km) to Mill Park Street for a Christmas lunch get together at the café there with partners and some Wobblies who were not able to ride that day [12 folk in all there]. Leader: Steve Drury.
- Friday 25 November 2022, 10:00: starting from Mill Park Street, Rhodes, four intrepid Wobblies cycled through Liberty Grove for an extensive ride into the Newington Wetlands, returning to Rhodes via Benelong Bridge for coffee (a total distance of 20 km). Leader: Russell Gough.
- Friday 28 October 2022, 10:00: meeting at Mill Park Street, Rhodes, six Wobblies cycled along the Parramatta River Cycleway to Parramatta Park and back, with 2 coffee stops! and a lunch.
- Friday 23 September 2022, 10:00: The Wobblies met at the Bareena Road T-junction with Yarrowee Road, Strathfield (beside the golf course) to ride the Cooks River Cycleway (crossing the river twice at Ewen Park and Tempe) to Wolli Creek where we will have coffee and return to Strathfield via the same route (total distance of approximately 32 km). Leader: Steve Drury.
- Friday 19 August 2022, 10:00: unfortunately our Cooks River cycle ride was abandoned due to bad weather. After meeting at Strathfield, the group drove to Rhodes for coffee before disbanding.
- Friday 22 July 2022, 10:00: our 'new' Cooks River ride: The Wobblies meet at at Yarrowee Road, Strathfield (beside the golf course) to ride the Cooks River Cycleway (crossing the river twice at Ewen Park and Tempe) to Wolli Creek where we will have coffee and return to Strathfield via the same route (total distance of approximately 32 km). Further details regarding meeting place and route will be advised closer to the ride day.
- Friday 24 June 2022, 10:00: The Wobblies met at Mill Park Street, Rhodes for the Parramatta River Parks Ride, cycling through Liberty Grove to Powells Creek Canal, right on to Underwood Road and right into Bicentennial Park, through the Mangroves, then turning right onto Bennelong Parkway and then right on to Hill Road to circumnavigate ‘the mound’ via the spiral pathway up to the lookout. Back on to Hill Road heading to Wentworth Point Wharf and onto the cycleway to Silverwater Bridge, crossing said bridge and return back to Rhodes via Meadowbank and the John Whitton Bridge: they were joined by one guest for coffee with lunch at the Rhodes Mini Mart Café in Mill Park Street. ~23 km..
- Friday 20 May 2022, 10:00: One Wobbly went to Mill Park Street, Rhodes to find the ride had been cancelled because of the persistent rain. Four of the regular riders were off finding better weather holidaying, three in Queensland and one on The Ghan.
- Friday 22 April 2022, 10:00: seven riders, including teenager guest Leo Petersen, dared the wet weather when The Wobblies ventured back to Narrabeen Lagoon: meeting at Bilarong Reserve, Wakehurst Parkway, Narrabeen, NSW: we only did one lap of the lagoon, instead of two, as the track was too wet after recent downpours, and we altered the ride by crossing over Pittwater Road to the bike track on the ocean side and had coffee/lunch at the Ocean Street Café before returning to Bilarong Reserve. 14 km.
- Friday 25 March 2022, 10:00: The Wobblies braved the weather and six riders met at Mill Park Street, Rhodes for a Newington Wetlands [Newington Nature Reserve] ride. Six cyclists did an 18 km loop back to food and coffee at the Rhodes Mini Mart Café, just beating the return of the rain.
- Friday 25 February 2022: our ride scheduled for 25 February was a bit of a washout! - we retreated to the Carlingford Bowling Club and 15 folk enjoyed a 3-hour lunch and watched the bowling green become a large swimming pool.
- Friday 21 January 2022, 09:00: An early start - The Wobblies met near the pub at Wisemans Ferry and about 09:30 took the Webb's Creek Ferry punt over to St Alban's Road on the western bank of the Hawkesbury River: then the fun began - a 20.25 km along the sealed St Alban's Road on the picturesque western side of the MacDonald River to the historic Settlers' Arms Inn (originally known as Travellers Rest) at St Alban's for a well-earned glass of water (or mug of coffee / pint of beer) then the 20.25 km ride back to the Ferry. Recovery from the 2½ hours cycling was a lunch at the Wisemans Ferry Hotel before returning to our domiciles. For a mid-January ride, we had very good weather. Seven riders including two ladies. A great day.
- Friday 17 December 2021, 10:00 the Wobblies met at Andrew Campbell Reserve on William Lawson Drive, Prospect, for another scenic cycle ride through Prospect Parklands, along the Prospect Canal Reserve track, over the viaduct, a short stint along the Cumberland Highway cycle path before turning into Prospect Creek for the return journey back to Prospect Reservoir. ~20 km. Seven souls took to the pedals in good weather for a very enjoyable incident-free ride: fourteen gathered afterwards at Carlingford Bowling Club for a long pre-Christmas lunch.
- Friday 19 November 2021, 10:00: The Wobblies went back to Narrabeen Lagoon: meet at Bilarong Reserve, Wakehurst Parkway, Narrabeen, NSW, to cycle two laps (~15 km) around Narrabeen Lagoon, anti-clockwise: Coffee, lunch/hot chips afterwards at the H20 Lakeside café. 8 riders.
- Friday 22 October 2021, 10:00: Mill Park Street, Rhodes: our first Club meeting at since another COVID-19 lockdown (lasted 106 days): seven Wobblies cycled from Rhodes through the Newington Wetlands to Parramatta Park along the cycleway and the newish Parramatta boardwalk near the Wharf, returning to Mill Park via Meadowbank for lunch with two ""guests. Approximately 28-34 km depending on whether you also did the Park circuit.
- A bit of an Hiatus: the COVID-19 (Delta-variant) lockdown meant no Club cycling from June to September 2021 inclusive.
- Friday 18 June 2021, 10:00: the Wobblies will do the Rhodes-Parramatta Park track again, meeting at Mill Park Street, Rhodes, to cycle via Homebush Wetlands and Newington Armory to P’matta Park, return via Meadowbank and the John Whitton bridge. Very pleasant! Always a good ride.
- Friday 21 May 2021, 10:00: seven Wobblies meet at Mill Park Street, Rhodes, to cycle from Rhodes through Meadowbank to Parramatta Park along the cycleway, returning via Silverwater Bridge, the Armoury and back to Mill Park for lunch. ~26 km.
- 11 - 13 May 2021 [Tues.-Wed.-Thurs.]: the Wobblies cycled the 45kms round trip through beautiful countryside along the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail, which opened in April 2020; seven couples did the trip, eight of us cycling the Rail Trail. It was a very nice three-day jaunt away from Sydney.
Day 1: leisurely travel to Tumbarumba; Day 2: the Rail Trail; Day 3 travel back to Sydney. Stayed at the Club Motel in Tumbarumba overnight. A great time had by all.
- Friday 23 April 2021, 10:00 (a week later than usual): the Wobblies met at Andrew Campbell Reserve on William Lawson Drive, Prospect, for a scenic cycle ride through Prospect Parklands, along the Prospect Canal Reserve track, over the viaduct, a short stint along the Cumberland Highway cycle path before turning into Prospect Creek for the return journey back to Prospect Reservoir. ~20 km. Two of the ten cyclists experienced tyre problems and the ride finished early: some made it to the Royal Cricketers Arms afterwards for light refreshments.

- Friday 19 March 2021, 12:00: during some really wet weather, the Wobblies and guests will keep dry by lunching together at Dooley's Silverwater!
- Friday 19 February 2021, 10:00: 10 Wobblies and 1 guest braved the prospect of rain and meet at Bilarong Reserve, Wakehurst Parkway, Narrabeen, NSW, to cycle two laps (~15 km) around Narrabeen Lagoon: in the event, there was no rain. Coffee, pancakes and hot chips at the H20 Lakeside café. ~18 km.
- Thursday 14 January 2021, 10:00: having survived the Festive Season, the Wobblies burnt off some fat and got rid of the cobwebs with an impromptu bicycle ride from Mill Park Street, Rhodes, along the Parramatta River cycle path, gathering for lunch afterwards: 10 riders, 13 lunchers!

- Friday 20 November 2020, 10:00: we cycled from Gosford to Woy Woy and return alongside Brisbane Water: 26 km and very pleasant despite some rain and temperatures nudging 31C; 7 cyclists and 3 non-cyclists lunched afterwards at Gosford Sailing Club on Masons Parade, Gosford.
- Friday 23 October 2020, 10:00: we cycled around Prospect Parklands and Viaduct. Met at Prospect Park, the ride was along the Prospect Canal Reserve track, over the viaduct, then a short stint along the Cumberland Highway cycle path before turning into Prospect Creek for the return journey back to Prospect Reservoir (approximately 20 km). Following the ride we had light refreshments at the Royal Cricketers Arms on Reservoir Road. The Parklands were at their best, an oasis in the middle of suburbia. Those of us who had ridden this route before saw a vast difference on the return section of the ride: what had been a bit of a wilderness was now an extensive development of sporting fields, etc. It looked great.
- Friday 25 September 2020, 10:00: meeting at Mill Park Street, Rhodes, cycled from Rhodes through Meadowbank to Parramatta Park along the cycleway, returning via Silverwater Bridge, the Armoury, the wonderful Wetlands and back to Mill Park for lunch. The route is approximately 26 km.
- Friday 21 August 2020, 10:00: members and partners meet at Gen Street, Belmont [approx. 1½ hours drive from Pennant Hills], to ride the fully tarred Fernleigh Track (Belmont–Adamstown Rail Trail), 15 km each way passing through a tunnel, wetlands, woodlands, railway relics and old rail stations, with signage along the route explaining the history of the old railway track. Non-cyclists wandered the wild-flower walks or wandered shops and supped; we all gathered on the Lake Macquarie foreshore in Belmont afterwards for coffee and lunch.
- Friday 17 July 2020, 10:00: meeting at Bilarong Reserve car park off the Wakehurst Parkway, Narrabeen, NSW, complete two laps around Narrabeen Lagoon, thence coffee and hot chips at the Lakeside café. ~18 km.
- Friday 19 June 2020, 10:00: Mill Park Street, Rhodes: our first Club meeting at since the COVID-19 pandemic started: we cycled from Rhodes through Meadowbank to Parramatta Wharf along the cycleway, returning via Silverwater Bridge to the Armoury for coffee, then back to Mill Park. Approximately 21 km.

Epping and District Probus is a men's social club for retirees or semi-retirees. If you live anywhere near Epping (NSW) we invite you to join our Club and participate in our activities - to have Fun, enjoy Friendship and enhance Fellowship in retirement. Our members come from diverse backgrounds, and our Club provides them with opportunities to meet others in similar circumstances. Partners are always welcome at Club meetings during the year, and can participate in all the events and interest groups organised by the Club.
